Abstract

Streamflow records are one of the bases used in the design and operation of complex water resource systems. Unfortunately records available from many streams are of insufficient length and no streamflow data have been recorded for some streams. Consequently estimates of unrecorded flows are often required for hydrolgic studies. To estimate data at a site for which some records exist, relationships may be established between the existing record and records from nearby sites, (3). The more difficult problem of estimating streamflow data at sites for which no records exist is the topic of this chapter.
