Abstract
The Pilot Specimen Bank program for the Federal Republic of Germany designed and coordinated by the Umweltbundesamt (Federal Environmental Agency) was started experimentally in 1976 (1). The whole effect is also coordinated with the United States National Pilot Environmental Specimen Bank Program.
