Abstract

The increasing use of Ceramics for ossicular replacement necessitated an examination of the receiving organism’s reaction. The suitability of a material which is to replace parts of or the whole ossicular chain depends on its behaviour in connective tissue. Therefore especially the interface reaction of the Ceramic material has to be studied carefully.
