Abstract
This paper deals with the attitudes toward the prosecution of Nazi war criminals in the United States. To a large extent it is based on the author’s experiences as Director of the Office of Special Investigations (OSI) in the U.S. Department of Justice. The paper focuses on the activities of the United States government, the Department of Justice and the OSI, relating to the investigation and after many years the prosecution of those who gave a new and terrifying meaning to anti-Semitism.
