Abstract

The mistakes in the carrying out of the color vision tests of pseudoisochromatic type can be classified in typical and not-typical errors. The first correspond to the responses of anomalous subjects and the second are apparently aleatory; these are clearly present in childhood and their causes are not completely explained. The color vision in 416 subjects aged from eight to fourteen years old (244 males and 172 females) is analyzed, by means of three pseudoisochromatic tests. Both typical and not-typical errors of the normal subjects are statistically related to several individual factors: age, sex, performance time, intellectual factors and school achievement.
