Abstract
The use of multifold digital acquisition systems for high-resolution seismic reflection surveys became standard practice during the 1970s. The technique was developed in the early 1960s as an appreciable improvement over the single channel continuous seismic profiling method. The precedure and technique are similar to the acquisition of deep exploration data (thousands of meters) for the petroleum industry.
