Some legal realism, part of sociology of law, students of the so-called psychology of judges and some common sense views seem in one way or another to assert that the views of the judge in questions of law or of fact may on the whole depend on his person, i. e. his personality traits, attitudes or something of the sort(1). There is reason to ask if these modes of reasoning hit the target and entail the whole truth.
