Summary

In this research the possible energy saving with rolling shutters, disturbing convective layers and reflective layers on the parapet and back side of radiator is investigated. The acceptance and attitude for the use of rolling shutters by inhabitants is reported. The U-value measurements show a possible reduction of the heat losses till 50% with two layer shutters. For a boiler efficiency of 70% the energy consumption is calculated. In the cost benefit calculations is looked to the pay back period and the present worth value of the different situations.
