The current status of the theory of VMOs, SMOs and Pop III stars is reviewed. The following subjects are included: observational and theoretical issues associated with Massive Object formation; the semianalytic treatment of VMO evolution developed in collaboration with Arnett and Carr; the cosmological setting for and possible consequences of Population III stars, with emphasis on the role Massive Objects and their black hole remnants may have played.
