Abstract
Radioimmunoassay is an analytical method based upon the labelling of a purified antigen. It offers a combination of convenience, specificity and sensitivity, but requires the use of an inconvenient separation step. Conversely, labelled (radioactive or not) antibody techniques suffer from higher non-specific binding, but appear more convenient and may be improved in sensitivity.
