The Steady-State Phasor Diagrams of A.C. Machines

  • Bernard Adkins

Before deriving the general equations of a.c. machines it is worth while to consider briefly the special case of steady operation, which can be analysed independently by means of phasor equations and diagrams. The method used in this chapter, which is essentially the same for the different types of a.c. machine, follows the same lines as the later development of the general theory, but is a good deal simpler. The present chapter forms a link between the usual textbook treatment and the general treatment which is the main theme of the book.
