Abstract
34 patients with diabetic macular disease were examined by static and kinetic perimetry before and after Argon-laser photocoagulation.
Focal photocoagulation was used to treat exudative macular disease; grid-photocoagualation was used for oedematous disease.
After treatment 80% of cases with exudative macular disease showed increased retinal sensitivity while 20% were unchanged.
50% of oedematous cases showed increased retinal sensitivity, 38.5% were unchaged, 11.5% became worse.
