Abstract
This paper reviews briefly the comprehensive planning of land and water resources in the Yellow River basin. The soil and water conservation work in the Xio Shi Guo Brigade on the Chinese Loess Plateau is presented. The paper suggests that a cooperative ownership approach is an essential criterion for the control of land and water resources under conditions of population pressures.
