Abstract

We review recent work on baryon structure in a number of QCD-motivated models. After establishing a prima facie case that the quark model should be relevant if we are to have a consistent description of the nucleus over a wide range of momentum transfer, we look for experimental confirmation. The discussion includes the search for exotic states, for a six quark component of the deuteron, and an up to date report on the interpretation of the EMC effect.
