The Effect of Wuxal Suspension on the Foliar Nutrient Content of Peaches

Abstract

This work studied the effect of Wuxal Suspensions Type 3 and 5 on peach trees. The main point of interest was the effect that different rates of the Wuxal Suspensions would have on the nutrient contents of the leaves, and the nutrient absorption capacity was analysed in order to determine the effect of the foliar fertilizers. The trials were carried out in 1982 and 1983 on 3-year-old ‘Cardinal’, ‘Early Amber’ and ‘Dixired’ peach trees on peach seedlings in the stone fruit orchard of the Fruit-Growing Institute of the University at Adana, Turkey.

A comparison of the mineral contents of the leaves shows that both types of Wuxal Suspension produce a considerable increase in the content of all the nutrients studied (N, K and Fe). In contrast, the Wuxal Suspensions produced no significant difference as far as the phosphorus content of the peach leaves was concerned.
