Abstract
An abundant literature on the economic consequences of the Portuguese Revolution of 25 April 1974 is already available (see, in particular OECD (1976), Barbosa and Beleza (1979), and Krugman and Macedo (1981)). Therefore, it is important to stress that the prupose of this chapter is to illustrate the capacity of our model to analyse structural change in a given economy, and in particular change provoked by strong exogenous shocks.
