Abstract
The ever increasing part of integrated digital circuits used for controlling devices with safety responsibility leads to a growing need for simulation programs suitable for computer-aided failure mode and effects analyses which meet the requirements of safety expertise. PASS II (for process computers) and PASS II-PC (for personal computers) are such special simulation programs. Electric and electronic logical elements considering the propagation time can be simulated with single and multiple faults of the “stuck at” type occurring at any time with due regard of trivalent variables of state (0; 1 and x).
