Abstract
A relatively large number of animal models of inflammatory glomerular disease exist, and much information on pathogenetic mechanisms has been derived from them. Despite the fact, however, that some of them appear to be mediated by immune complex reactions, there is a paucity of models which have a close counterpart in human disease. (This is due partly to our lack of knowledge of the aetiology of the majority of human types of glomerulonephritis).
