Abstract

In a period of 8 years a new artificial sphincter was developed, a rather simple device which was implanted at the penoscrotal angle and acted as a sort of ‘internal penile clamp’. The silicone device (Fig. 1) is positioned around the urethra at the penoscrotal angle and closed using a stainless steel clamp.
