Abstract
The CEC Demonstration Programme now involves 38 photovoltaic projects, with a total installed capacity of 507 kWp and a wide range of pv applications including residential houses, farms, mountain huts and refuges, lighthouses, street lights, water pumps, desalination plants, warning systems for fog, fire and floods, TV and radio transmitters and electrification of remote leisure centres. The projects are encouraging the development of new pv system components, and providing useful experience in pv system installation, operation and maintenance. The programme with its wide coverage of pv technologies forms a unique data base from which to deduce trends in pv system performance and costs.
