Abstract
The requirements of companies purchasing foundry parts with regards to their quality, cost and delivery dates, the pressure of competitors on the supplier of these parts and the rapid progress made in metallurgy technologies, parcularly in the electronic and computer fields, are inciting foundry managers to introduce increasingly more sophisticated automation systems into their production shops.
