Abstract
Most work in molecular biology of Streptomycetes has concentrated on the genetically well characterized Streptomyces coelicolor and S.lividans, and less is known about industrially important species. Except for ΦC31 (1), only preliminary reports have been published on actinophage cloning systems. The availability of efficient transfection systems should be very useful to study the genetics and to elucidate the biological processes in those species.
