Abstract

In the last ten years the clinical angiographic documentation that large coronary vessels actively contract and relax and the evidence provided by hemodynamic monitoring that ischemic attack may not be preceded by any increase in myocardial oxygen demand, have challenged the traditional view of the mechanisms of angina pectoris, myocardial infarction and sudden death.
