An Erotetic Concept of Teaching

  • Chapter
A Logical Theory of Teaching

Part of the book series: Philosophy and Education ((PHED,volume 1))

Abstract

In this chapter we will try to provide as precise and rigorous an analysis of the concept of teaching as is possible without leaving the ordinary notion in the conceptual dust. We shall defend this analysis by pointing out some of its promise as the central feature of a full-blown theory of teaching, which we shall call an “erotetic” theory.
