Radiation from Hot, Thin Plasmas

  • Chapter
Hot Thin Plasmas in Astrophysics

Part of the book series: NATO ASI Series ((ASIC,volume 249))

Abstract

We discuss the processes which produce radiation in astrophysical plasmas, emphasizing the accuracy with which the spectrum can be predicted. Detailed comparisons among different computations are made for simple cases, and the effects of non-negligible densities, fields, photon fluxes and time variations are discussed.
