Abstract
The one loop effective evolution equation of the scalar field driving inflation in the new inflationary universe scenario is derived using a perturbative calculation scheme proposed recently by M. Morikawa and M. Sasaki. The expectation value ⍕ of the scalar field is allowed to be dependent on time. We show that for an adiabatic evolving meanfield ⍕ (t) there arises the derivative of the effective potential as well as a local damping term proportional to ⍕ , which has its origin in the fact that particles which will be created by the time dependence of the meanfield will decay subsequently into lighter particles.
