Abstract
A review is presented of charge transfer reactions of multiply charged ions with atomic hydrogen and helium in astrophysical plasmas. The general features of the collision process are analyzed within the framework of the molecular model and a brief discussion is given of the theoretical methods used to calculate the cross-sections. A comparison of recent theoretical results with the available experimental data at laboratory energies would indicate that the theoretical model should be reliable for predicting cross-sections at astrophysical energies.
