Wide Components in Double and Multiple Stars

Summary

Star pairs with wide separations need to be approached from a statistical point of view if the three following problems are to be dealt with; firstly, the selection of physical systems, secondly, the statistical properties of wide binaries, and thirdly, the derivation of single star properties when wide binaries are considered as two stars of the same age and observed from the same distance.
