Abstract
Dispersion of various substances in oceans and coastal areas are studied by scientific motivation or mainly because of several problems of practical interest. Pollutants are released into the sea from natural or man-made land based sources. One main pollution source is the domestic sewage discharging continuously into the sea from coastal cities and resorts. Liquid wastes containing toxic substances as heavy metals are also discharged from industries. Rivers and drainage ditches transport into the estuaries suspended matter, nutrients and chemical substances from pesticides and other agricultural products.
