Abstract
Over the last 25 years, the Pacific Basin region — defined to encompass all of the countries and territories in Asia, Oceania, and North America that border on the Pacific Ocean — has become widely recognized as the most dynamic region in the world economy. Over this period the average output growth rate and the degree of economic transformation in the Pacific Basin have significantly surpassed that of any other region in the world.
