Abstract
Today, in the spirit of the Christmas season, I have one request, two comments, three observations, four plus one generalizations, five messages, and one conclusion, but no partridges or pear trees—seventeen points that I will try to cover, on the average, at the rate of less than one minute each. Are you ready?
These comments were composed during the planning conference for the National Commission on Testing and Public Policy and delivered at the end of that conference.
