Abstract

On February 8, 1988, the Shadow Financial Regulatory Committee issued Policy Statement Number 26 on “Studies of the Stock Market Crash.” In part, the statement urged that “no action be taken until more thought be given to the connection between the policy proposals advanced and what happened in October.” The complete statement is provided in the appendix.
