Abstract

A man who walks alone will not go astray only if the road in front of him is sunlit, only when he can see. The sunlight of human actions is reason; when a man can fully cover with his mind all he has to do, he will not hesitate and will obtain the best possible results. No wonder that a doctor should want to have such a perfect guide when fulfilling his difficult and complicated tasks. To treat patients in a way exclusively based on reason is a goal to ward which our art is tending, and which it is slowly but inevitably approaching.
