Abstract
Mangroves provide a variety of resources that can be used by man. For centuries, people in India have been gathering honey made from the nectar of mangrove species. Honey extraction, to date, has been a cottage industry but there is a large potential for development of a larger industry that would not have a negative impact on mangrove systems. In this paper I describe the nature of the honey industry in Indian mangroves.
