Abstract
Logical positivism aimed at understanding the revolution that took place in the fundamentals of physics at the beginning of this century. However, the revolution in the sciences is still going on, and analyses carried out in the spirit of logical positivism have been left behind. It seems that the destination of every philosophy of science is to be a philosophy ‘along the way’. Nevertheless, some trends can be discovered in this ‘transitory chain’ of progress that are likely to persist long into the future.
