Abstract
Modern turbogenerators are often supported on flexible foundations. It is therefore important to understand the effects of these foundations on the performance of rotating machines. The dynamic behaviour of a 660MW LP steam turbine with various foundation characteristics has been analysed in the present study. Interesting results were obtained and these results may be useful in understanding the dynamic behaviour of similar machines.
