Part of the book series: Mathematics and Its Applications ((MAIA,volume 56))

Abstract

Two examples of industrial problems originating mathematical problems of non-local type are illustrated: the degradation of the rheological properties of coal-water slurries and the crystallization of polypropylene. In both cases the model is described, the parameters identification is discussed, and some analytical and numerical results are presented.
