Abstract

Participants at the Workshop were asked to judge the suitability of the monitoring techniques to a given application. Our group chose to evaluate methods for monitoring the persistence and activity of the antagonistic fungus, Trichoderma harzianum P1, in a biological control program in which the antagonist is sprayed on apple blossoms to prevent infection by Botrytis cinerea, a pathogen causing dry eye rot in the mature fruit. The model presented is based on a Workshop poster by Hjeljord, Klemsdal and Tronsmo.
