Control of the Pacemaker Patient

  • Chapter
Therapeutics in Cardiology

Abstract

From the moment that a permanent pacemaker is implanted in a patient, three types of periodic reviews should be initiated:

  1. a)

    primary level, under the care of the family physician;

  2. b)

    secondary level, under supervision of the cardiologist; and

  3. c)

    third level, in a hospital unit for pacemaker control.
