Abstract

Of all the aspects of fertility regulation covered in this volume, induced abortion is uniquely well documented, at least for Great Britain. This is largely the result of abortion being illegal unless performed in certain circumstances. A system of notification has been developed as a means of controlling abortions under the Abortion Act, 1967.
