Three Phase Pulse Width Modulation Waveform Generator for Use with Permanent Magnet Motors

Abstract

A brief review is given on the development of a semi-custom chip to perform Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) waveform generation. This device can be used up to ultrasonic frequencies (>16 KHz) for variable speed electric drives using permanent magnet motors.

Work was also undertaken to develop a high speed hybrid switch for use at 415V a.c.
