Abstract

The introduction of the powerful immunosuppressive drug cyclosporin A (CyA) [1] as well as a new surgical technique to deal with the exocrine secretion [2] renewed interest in pancreatic transplantation. Since then several new or modified techniques of transplanting whole or segmental pancreatic tissue have been employed worldwide. In our Unit in Cambridge five different surgical techniques have been used over the last nine years, results of which are reported here (Table 1 and 2).
