Abstract

The interpretation of Magnetic Resonance (MR) images, necessitates a minimum understanding of some basic concepts. Because of the importance of the various MR parameters in image construction, a summary defining the different terms and parameters currently used will be presented first. This summary will be followed by a more detailed overview of MRI physics. Due to the complexity of NMR, only a cursory review is presented. For detailed information, the reader is referred to the articles enumerated in the appended references [1–5].
