Abstract

Our initial description of post myocardial revascularization hypertension in 1973 [1] has been confirmed by other centers and is now recognized as a frequent complication of coronary bypass surgery [2–4]. It has been reported to occur in 30 to 50 percent of operated patients [1–3]. The rise in blood pressure can be quite serious [1, 5, 6], and the final outcome depends on the rapidity of diagnosis and early initiation of adequate therapy [1, 7].
