Abstract
In this chapter we take up the fundamental object of material activity, namely money. We shall not rewrite the enormous literature on the subject nor attempt to be exhaustive. Following the purpose of the book we shall try to explicate some ‘principia’ and do so in four sections:
-
(1)
The nature and functions of money
-
(2)
Money and choices of agents
-
(3)
Applications of (1) and (2) to the theory of prices and of equilibria
-
(4)
Money, Credit and Inflation.
