Abstract

ABSTRACT. Cycloadditions of olefins to keteniminium salts derived from chiral amides provide an excellent method of synthesis of homochiral cyclobutanones. Applications to the asymmetric alkylation of olefins and the synthesis of optically active γ-lactones or prostanoids will be discussed.
