Abstract

This work deals with a new type of knitted fabric, which acts as a unidirectional reinforcement. A knitted fabric provides good processibility, which is useful in various composite production methods. The production method of the fabric itself is rather versatile, which makes it easy to use reinforcement fibres of different kinds. In the light of the preliminary results it seems that using this reinforcement it is possible to obtain properties comparable to conventional unidirectional reinforcing materials.
