This paper describes interlaminar shear tests on T300/5208 carbon-epoxy laminates at high and low strain rates. The effect of strain rate is thus highlighted, particularly by the microfractographic investigations. The shear specimens used in the tests were subjected to a critical analysis based on finite element methods. These calculations have permitted the interpretation of experimental data, and the optimization of specimen geometry.
