Optimum Design of Laminates under Aspects of Strength

Abstract

Continuous fibre reinforced composites have excellent mechanical properties compared with classical design materials. Because of the anisotropy of the material and also the laminate properties it is difficult to get full use of the composite material potential. This paper offers an easy method for optimum strength design of multi-layer laminates by diagrams and presents a strategy for more complex optimization problems.
