Abstract

A design concept for a flocculating device has been derived by considering the effects of hydraulic conditions between corrugated baffles which are held in a spiral arrangement. Performance predictions suggest that this device may be more efficient than conventional stirred tank flocculators. High intensity phase separation applications may also be enhanced utilising this design principle.
